Um in Thunar, Videothumbnails (Vorschaubilder) anzeigen zu lassen muss man folgende Dateien erstellen und mit den richtigen Rechten versehen.

Benötigt: mplayer

Danach noch mit dem Befehl

  /usr/libexec/thunar-vfs-update-thumbnailers-cache-1

das cache aktualisieren.
